Nevada Concealed Carry Course (CCW)

Nevada requires a renewal training course before filing your application to renew your CCW.  Your permit is valid for five years.  LVMPD currently recommends submitting your application no sooner than 120 days before expiration.  NOTE: If your permit is expired you cannot carry a firearm concealed in the State of Nevada.

Our course is conducted in conjunction with the full day initial CCW course. Renewal students are welcome to join the course for the entire day or just the renewal portion.

Renewal class begins at 8:30am and lasts four (4) hours. Students will receive an update on statutes that have changed and review regulations and use-of-force. Renewal students must qualify with a handgun (revolver or semi-auto, any caliber) to pass the course. The course of fire is identical to the one you fired in your last Nevada CCW course.

Students will need a firearm and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition. Practice is a good thing. If you need some refresher training outside of the course please use the contact form to contact an instructor for private course information.

Students are expected to be familiar with the basic operation of their firearm including performing manipulation skills such as loading, unloading, and making the firearm safe as well as the ability to demonstrate basic marksmanship skills.

Please arrive 10 minutes early! There are only porta-pottys at the range and no running water. Hand gel is provided.

Course fee includes all range fees, targets, and hand-outs.

Students are required to bring their own ammunition and firearm.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The State of Nevada Charges $61.25 for renewals. This fee is in addition to the class registration and is payable directly to the LVMPD when you turn in your completed CCW paperwork for processing.

The fee includes background investigation, fingerprints, and photograph.

You will leave our class prepared to submit your application to the Sheriff.

Nevada Applications must be submitted to the Sheriff’s Office in person.

Training is completed in one day.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

To register for a class, READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. Note that you are allowed to register ONE person at a time for a class. To register multiple people, you must go through this process for each person individually:

  1. First, you must put the number "1" (without quotes) into whichever red box matches your status... There are two boxes to choose from, depending on if you are a current BRPC Member, Active Duty Military, or LEO (or none of these). If you are Member, Active Duty, or LEO then change the "0" to a "1" in that box. Otherwise, change the "0" to a "1" in the other box.
  2. Next, select a date to register for from the calendar that shows a GREEN background. If you do not immediately see any dates with a green background, that means there are no dates available for that month. Click the right-arrow at the top of the calendar to move to the next month, and keep doing this until you find a green date that is available for registration.
  3. After clicking the date you want to register for, the "Booking Cost" will then be displayed below the calendar. At that point, simply enter your Member Card Number (if applicable) and click the red BOOK NOW button to complete the process and checkout.
