High Power Rifle is competitive shooting done with a high-power rifle on standardized paper targets at distances from 200 to 1000 yards.

High Power Rifle matches are conducted nationally throughout the year and culminate every summer with the National Championships held at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, and Camp Perry Ohio.

The High Power Rifle shooting held at the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club consists of 2 competitions held on Sundays on different weekends of the month.

NRA APPROVED 600 YARD Mid-Range Monthly Match:

Prone shooting using iron sighted or scoped rifles (including F-class), the match consists of 3 stages::

  1. 20 rounds in 22 minutes at 600 yards.
  2. 20 rounds in 22 minutes at 600 yards.
  3. Aggregate of Matches 1 and 2.

Each stage is preceded by 2 “sighter” shots.

Mid-Range Monthly Match Dates/Times:

3rd Sunday of each month
7:30 AM

NRA Approved 1,000 Yard Monthly Match:

The NRA Approved 1,000 matches are shot from the prone position, and both iron-sighted and scoped rifles (including F-class) are used.

The match consists of 3 stages:

  1. 20 rounds in 30 minutes.
  2. 20 rounds in 30 minutes.
  3. Aggregate of Matches 1 and 2.

Unlimited sighters are allowed in each 30-minute shooting stage.

2nd Sunday of each month
7:30 AM

All Match Location:

Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club Members Range.

Match Fees:

$5 to $10 per day.

All fees are collected at the match event.
